"Be a Flamingo in a Flock of Pigeons"
I've got no idea who started it, but I love it!

I don't know about you, but this has really struck a chord with me. This year I pushed all my boring clothes to the back of my closet and started wearing things that made me feel good - pretty dresses and skirts mostly. I discovered the wonderful word of quirky brooches and started actually thinking about what clothes to wear to work each day, instead of just chucking on whatever my hand first touched. And let me tell you it feels amazing! Rather than worrying that I haven't lost the 10kgs that I said I'd lose back at the start of 2016 (cause New Year Resolutions never work!), I'm loving my clothes and how they make me feel.
But there was one thing that happened that I really wasn't expecting.... most of my friends have been really lovely and I think I may have inspired some of them to wear more fun things, but some of my colleagues have been..... well they haven't not been nice, but they've been a bit backwards in their compliments. If I had a dollar for every time I've heard that I'm making the rest of the staff look bad because I'm wearing something nice..... I might have enough by now to upgrade from a free blog 😂
So you can see why, when I came across this quote earlier in the year I could really relate to it. Not that I think there's anything wrong with being a pigeon if it makes you happy. I'm just enjoying being a bit different at the moment and am embracing who I am for a change instead of trying to fit in and fly below the radar.
I guess what I'm saying is that one of my goals for next year is to be a flamingo! I mean, who wouldn't want those long legs? And I must admit that I do love pink!!
